Missing People In a Small Town

Good Girl, Bad Blood: A Sequel to A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

I liked the first book so much that I couldn't wait for the second one to come out. Luckily, I didn't have to wait too long.

In this installment, Pip tries to have some semblance of a normal life, like what she had before she solved the deaths of Andie and Sal, but her notoriety makes that nearly impossible. On the night of the memorial gathering for Andie and Sal, Jamie, the brother of her good friend, Connor, goes missing. Jamie's dad doesn't believe he is missing, that he just took off again, as he has done before. Connor and his mother are convinced that something terrible has befallen Jamie and implore Pip to help. She doesn't want to, but she can't turn down a friend, so she takes the case, so to speak.

Over the course of the next several days, Pip becomes ensconced in every clue that turns up, which is exactly what her mother didn't want to happen. Additionally, while all of this is going on, the rape trial of one of the suspects in the Andie and Sal case is wrapping up too. So, Pip is trying to find Jamie, follow the trial, and keep up with her podcast.

As with the previous book, there are a lot of twists and turns, and a lot of moments where I didn't want to put the book down. I look forward to the third installment of this series.
